DRAKOPOULOS, a member of the SELA network, participated in the 13th Balkan Legal Forum, “Beyond Business as Usual: Advising Clients and Building CEE Law Firms in a Changing World,” held in Vienna on 25–26 June 2026.
The firm’s managing partner, Panagiotis Drakopoulos, joined a panel of leading regional and international legal practitioners to discuss the topic “Should Law Firms in the Region Be Actively Considering a Merger?”
The session explored some of the most pressing strategic questions facing the legal industry today, including the consolidation of law firms, the future of the national champion model, the role of alliances, and how firms across the CEE region can remain competitive in an increasingly globalised market.
The panel was moderated by Alexandru Bîrsan (Filip & Company) and featured Borislav Boyanov (Boyanov & Co.), Attila K. Csongrády (Schoenherr), Daniel Cousens (Addleshaw Goddard), and Panagiotis Drakopoulos (Drakopoulos).
Forums such as the Balkan Legal Forum offer a valuable opportunity to exchange perspectives on the forces reshaping legal practice — from shifting client expectations and technological change to growing cross-border activity.
Congratulations to the organisers on marking 26 years of the Balkan Legal Forum, and thanks to colleagues and friends from across the CEE legal community for another round of thoughtful and stimulating discussion.
