Although the Law on Decease of Risks from Catastrophic Events and Management of Extreme Situations was adopted in 2018, the Ministry of Interior Affairs has recently started an extensive inspection control over application of this regulation. There are numerous obligations prescribed by this law, and they inter alia refer to adoption of the respective enactments in this area, as well as performing other actions. The law applies to all companies in the Republic of Serbia and also introduces numerous misdemeanours in cases of breaches of the legal obligations.
Having in mind frequent inspection controls on application of this law, already performed over numerous companies in various fields of business, it is advisable that all companies immediately double check if they are compliant with this law and, if not, to initiate the process of harmonization.
