The workshop was held on February 22, 2018 and is a part of the SCOOP4C (Stakeholder Community Once-Only Principle for Citizens) project. It was launched in November 2016 and aims at forming a community of stakeholder member states, public administrations and citizens that are ready to work on the implementation of the once-only principle.
The principle revolves around the idea of eliminating the administrative burden for citizens and businesses. This will be achieved if any required information is provided once only and, thereafter, public administrations take the necessary internal measures to re-use it, thus functioning and providing public services more quickly and more efficiently. The presentation of Martin Zahariev, PhD, who is also on the team of the Law and Internet Foundation, was devoted to the new General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) that shall apply as of May 25, 2018.
