Panagiotis Drakopoulos, managing partner at Drakopoulos and co-chair of the IBA European Regional Forum, chaired a key panel at the IBA conference “ESG: The Brussels Effect at a Crossroads”, held in Paris from 18–20 June.
The session, titled “The EU Omnibus Package going forward: what businesses should look out for now and in the short/medium term future”, brought together leading experts to discuss the evolving ESG regulatory landscape, including the implications of the EU Omnibus Package, regulatory challenges, and practical compliance strategies.
Joining Panagiotis on the panel were Pauline Kuipers (Bird & Bird) and Marco Sella (Sella Torlaschi), following a keynote by Michael Spanos (Global Sustain).
The discussion covered key topics such as ESG due diligence under CS3D, common compliance pitfalls, and the broader impact of Omnibus I & II on corporate ESG obligations.
