On 17 October 2023, the Free Trade Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Serbia and the Government of the People’s Republic of China was signed. Afterwards, the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia ratified this Agreement on 26 October 2023.
The purpose of concluding the Agreement with the People’s Republic of China is to enable favourable access to the Chinese market for Serbian products. This is aimed at achieving a balance in trade, reducing the existing foreign trade deficit, and increasing the export-to-import ratio. Additionally, it is expected to expand investment and production capacities in Serbia and enhance overall economic activity.
