SELA member firms assisted with the survey of legal frameworks governing state-owned enterprises (SOE) for the report of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).
Their contribution on Corporate Governance challenges of SOE is featured in Chapter 2 of the Report.
Chapter 2 discusses the rationale for state ownership, the objectives of such entities and gives an analysis of state enterprises’ governance and highlights areas for improvement.
SELA team was praised for its involvement on the project as it was “both most efficient and gave most precise answers!“
The title of this year’s Transition Report – “The State Strikes Back” – reflects both the trend towards growing acceptance of state involvement and the increased expectations that are now being placed on the state.
